So when you study press, messaging, strategic

communications, one of the examples that's kind of legendary is a reporter asking a man,

so have you stopped beating your wife.

And there are versions, there are multiple. stop beating your wife.

And there are versions, there are multiple ways to say that,

but let's just stick to that.

Sir, if I may ask the first question,

Mr. Candidate for office, have you stopped beating your wife?

The response to that is no I didn't beat my wife before which means man answers question no he hasn't stopped

beating his wife or yes because I never beat, in which case you can run with that story, and people do.

And now you've got audio that you clip, you don't even have to edit it you just clip it to show that to an audience

we are pulled in so many different directions everybody's looking for a headline. You know I stopped

doing interviews? I used to give interviews. When you're on your way up, you give every

interview possible because that exposes you to more audiences and out of those audiences you'll get more

samplers. And I attained a certain point in my career where I decided we have a good audience it's a good size I feel good

about it and I don't need to grow we'll grow organ. I don't need to be out interviewing for more

listeners affiliates or whatever else. Because the trade-off is you get in front of

somebody who will ask you a question to make their name that will

be some ticky tack question because if they can embroil you in drama of their making, it helps them because they don't have an audience yet.
