Today where should we learn about sex?

This week, the government announced an update to the 20 year old sex education curriculum in England.

It's now going to include sharing private photos, lessons on explicit content, and will cover how the internet can promote an

unhealthy view of sex and relationships. But the reality is that since the

door of dial-up internet, generations of teenagers and adults have been learning

about sex from porn.

We know that conversations about bad sex have come out of the Me Too movement and that what's being taught in schools isn't

quite matching up with people's lived experiences, so we're going to look at what's missing.

We are going to hear from a group of young student housemates about their sex education.

They are all women in their early 20s who started having sex in the era of unlimited free porn. And by the way we are going to talk very

explicitly about sex in this episode so maybe don't listen with kids.

In my school the boys and girls were separated.

Yeah, we got separated and we were just talking about periods and stuff but we basically

had to write down our questions that we had about sex or periods or pregnancy on and put them in a box and then a woman

it so it will be anonymous and then the teacher would read them out and ask them but what

I noticed about sex education in schools is that they don't teach female pleasure, but they teach men male pleasure.

Yeah, so they teach about like erections, but they won't teach about female orgasms because

they can't they don't feel comfortable teaching female pleasure but they do the boys.

It is true and I feel like sex education in schools isn't enough for girls like you don't get

talk about like if you're not actually ready to have sex you shouldn't have sex because
