The last time we saw Alicia was February 26th of 2019. I honestly did not see any signs

of her being in despair or manic or any of the things that you would think that you would

see. Her eyes were bright and happy. The night before we were talking and she was just

talking about things, just about life in general and stressors. And so the next day I called

her the morning to check in and she said I just made breakfast and she had face time

with her husband and she was going to make her way to her psychiatrist's appointment.

I knew she was at Chibot. I mean when we hang up she needed to sit into the car and

drive to her doctor which is 15 minutes ride or something. So I was confident that she

will make it to the doctor. That was what I was expecting.

In 1993 while on vacation in the United States from his home in Switzerland, 21-year-old

Martin Halt meets Alicia Griffin, the girl of his dreams. Two decades later, living

different lives on different continents, they find each other again. It's an epic love

story that's tragically cut short when Alicia disappears on the way to a scheduled doctor's

appointment.

The first time when I saw Alicia I was just amazed how beautiful she was. She's curly

hair, lovely, lovely eyes. She's a little bit curvy. She's mixed race, half black, half

white. I just arrived in San Francisco completely all prepared. I stayed overnight in a crappy

hotel on mission and then the next day I started exploring San Francisco so I went to

this bar. I sat down there, had a beer and then at a certain point Alicia came in and

we started to chat a little bit and that was our first contact.

This chance encounter with Alicia is the highlight of Martin's visit to the United States.
