I want to tell you a story.

I want to tell you a story about a bureaucracy that was so rife with corruption, so rife with

corruption that even the people of the nation could not find justice even when they knew

and had seen the evidence of malfeasance, of corrupt behavior, corruptible people at

the very top levels of government.

Let me tell you that story, folks, because it is a story about America.

Did we ever think we would find ourselves in this situation?

I think back to my father, he died when I was 13 years old.

He was a world war two veteran and a veteran of the Korean War.

Much older, loved his country more than anything.

Loved this nation, fought in the South Pacific, lost a lot of his good friends.

You know, he was born in Alabama, raised on a farm, worked on a farm.

My grandparents were cotton pickers, believe it or not, that's what they did.

They didn't have any money.

They were poor Americans who picked cotton during the depression, allegedly my grandfather,

you know, he died before I was born, basically saved all of his money and bought a farm in

Alabama at the time.

There's all kinds of really incredible stories that I heard from my father about that time.

I told you my mother, and most of you know that it was from Cuba, born in Cuba, left in

the 1960s on the Johnson Freedom flights, flood communism, corruption in Cuba, lost her

life, her previous life.

That was her life living in Cuba.
