Hey, this is Durey and welcome to Potsy of the People.

Now this episode is dedicated to all the victims of the pulse shooting and those impacted

by the shooting which happened nearly a year ago today.

And in the spirit of pride, I'm reminded to urge all of you to make sure you use your power

and privilege to create space that is safe for everybody.

That people should be able to show up in the fullness of who they are as a gay black man

in this country.

I know it's like to be in a world that doesn't always support my identity.

That doesn't always make peace with my identity.

I also know that we can't let hate win.

That this will take all of us to push this world forward.

Now another thing I know to be true is that the way we think about the world shapes the way

that we act in the world.

It's in that spirit that I've invited artists and celebrities on the pod to talk about

how they think about using their platform for good for something bigger than them.

I'm legend on the pod, second episode, and now Katie Perry.

Katie and I have been coordinating this for a while and finally made it happen this past

weekend.

I've known Katie for about a year.

We have a very close mutual friend Cleo Wade.

And I texted Katie and April and said, hey, I'd love to have you on the pod.
