Are you there in your Bible? Jonah chapter one. Okay, as you're there in your Bible, let me just give you

just a little bit of framework for where we're at and where we're going. We are in the

midst of a brand new series, a brand new series called Crush. You keyboard player, I'm good.

You're good for now. You're good. I'm going to jump in. I'm going to start preaching.

Make some noise for the keyboard player for being so fantastic. We love Ryan as the man.

Give you a little bit of a framework for where we are and where we're going.

We are in this second installment of a brand new series called Crushed.

And really, this whole series stems.

The genesis of it comes from a verse in Psalm.

Psalm 34, verse 18. Watch as it comes on the screen it says the lord is

close to the brokenhearted i just love that thought and saves those who are crushed in spirit

if you're a laker fan or a clipper fan this is good news news to you. The Lord is close to brokenhearted.

Like if you get into the World Series and then just the bats don't work, Dodger fans.

God is close to the brokenhearted. He comes, in fact, I believe God does his best work when we are at our worst place.

God just is so good that when everybody else is walking out of

your life, God is always walking into your life. He's close to the brokenhearted. When you're

crushed in your spirit, I don't know if you've faced agony or pain, defeat, rejection, betrayal.

I don't know if you've had a doctor's report this way.

When you're crushed in spirit, the Bible says God does not reject you or stay away from you.

He comes close to us. So for the next few weeks, in fact, we have four more installments of this.
