Dear Muslims, you are all aware that tomorrow groups of people who are claiming to be Christian

and claiming to be patriots for this country will be marching outside of our mosque. And I know there's a whole mixture of

emotions that we are all having now. But it is times like this that prove who really we are.

And it's times like this that demonstrate the inner character of a person.

So I say loudly and clearly, the people that will be marching outside tomorrow,

they are neither true Christians, nor are they real patriots.

The people that are going to be protesting tomorrow outside, they neither represent

the teachings of Jesus Christ, nor are they representing the foundations of this country. Rather,

they are fear-driven agitators who substitute conspiracy for reality and who are more interested in stoking paranoia and fear

than in defending American values.

Their rhetoric, their speech,

reveals a deep misunderstanding of who we are as Muslims

and a willingness to distort facts in order to justify hatred and hostility.

And by targeting a house of worship, by targeting a center where families come together,

children play, they are showing themselves not as guardians of patriotism, but as people willing to trample on the very

freedoms that they claim to defend. My dear brothers and sisters, what values are they defending

against when frenzied mobs from across the country are going to gather outside and they're going

to terrorize women and children.

When they are not even willing to engage with us

in a polite conversation, none of us has ever done anything

to deserve that level of hostility.
