If we could barely keep those laws ourselves, and we were born Jews,

why would we project this burden onto Gentiles?

In other words, none of these laws saved us anyway. They didn't make us closer to God.

It wasn't what we did that made us close to God. It's what Jesus had done. That's what saved us.
