1:01.0	In the 1980s, Kempton Park Hospital was a hub of state healthcare for local residents.
1:08.0	I was actually born in this hospital in September 1980. I could not be happier that I was
1:13.6	born in that year, because just two years later, a man would appear on the doorstep of Kempton Park
1:19.6	Hospital who would leave a very deep scar on its history, and sadly, even ensure that many
1:26.6	parents went home without their newborn babies.
1:31.1	Just a warning before I get into this, this case does include instances of injury and death to children due to inadequate medical care.
1:41.2	Andre Esther Hazen had already built up a good reputation as a paediatrician in private practice in
1:47.3	Kempton Park for two years before he started working at Kempton Park Hospital in 1982.
1:54.5	Parents of his patients had nothing but good things to say about him.
1:59.2	It emerged that the privacy of working in his own rooms had hidden
2:04.0	quite a lot about Esther Hazen though. One fellow doctor at the hospital immediately noticed that
2:11.1	Esther Hazen couldn't perform even the simplest of tasks. He would often ask others to do things like inserts and intubation
2:19.5	tube, something he should have been able to do in his sleep with his amount of experience.
