Hey, you guys. I hope you had a great weekend. Welcome to this morning devotional. We had such a great time at my son's 5K run. This was to help spread awareness and visibility for his nonprofit organization. Luke is himself adopted, and he has started and is running an adoption grant agency to help other families afford the

costs of adoptions so that these kids can have forever homes.

Together as numeral 1.org. So today's devotional is coming out of my

favorite devotional here by Paul David Tripp. It's called Morning Mercies. And he

asserts this truth. What you worship or who you worship is not most accurately determined by

where you go on Sunday, but by the way that you speak and the way you behave on every other day

of the week. The word worship, I think, is wildly misunderstood today. If we want to go to the

dictionary definition of worship, we're not going to look to Webster. We're going to look to the Bible.

And some people think of worship as some religious corporate activity, where you have crowds and

crowds of people chanting or singing a song.

Maybe you have pilgrims that are gathering and laying candles at the feet of a Buddha or a small group on a Wednesday night doing some outward religious activity.

Maybe singing and swaying back and forth with hands raised to

emotional worship.

But the Bible doesn't describe worship that way.

The scripture defines it in a fundamentally different context.

When God helps us understand who we are, according to His Word, he says that worship is not

something that we as human beings occasionally do and participate in when we sing or when we pray.

Rather, he describes us as being designed as constant worshippers.

So worship is actually our identity long before it becomes an activity.

Worshiping is what we do.
