Summary

Fresh off a 20 mile run I reflect on how I finally feel like I’ve turned a corner in marathon training. Jake earned some serious credit in the Husband Duties department so I share why expressing gratitude for each other matters. We talk about what we wanted to be when we grew up compared to how many kids now want to be influencers and wrap with a new game called “Popstar or Ilana” where Jake has to guess if dramatic song lyrics are from real hit songs or pulled from my middle school notebooks.

0:16.7

It did sound pretty good.

0:17.8

It was like straight out of a commercial where it was like, it was like, it was like the audio that they use for commercials.

0:23.4

Yeah, I agree.

0:24.1

It was good.

0:25.9

But we're here, and that is a feat on its own.

0:31.4

Yes.

0:32.5

I'm a very tired girl.

0:34.2

Yeah, you are.

0:35.3

Yeah, so Alana ran 20 miles today. He said it. I didn't. Which is the first

0:40.6

time, which is the first time you've run 20 miles. So congratulations. It's the longest run I've ever done.

0:46.5

Yep. It took you like all morning, but. Doesn't matter. No, it doesn't matter. You did it. That's great.

0:53.6

I want to readjust here.

0:54.6

Hold on.

0:54.9

Can you hold this? I need a table. We need a table so badly in this space. Listen, every week, this place is getting a little bit better. I think it looks a lot better. I actually had somebody over to record this. I don't think we had the lights on last week either. We probably didn't. We honestly, you don't need it.

1:11.6

If it's like daylight outside, you really don't need it.

1:14.2

But it's getting dark out. It's like kind of a legit production in here. I got to say I, so I walked in and I had like my coffee in hand and I was, and you were like setting up and it felt like I was like coming to like a production. Wow. That's so cool.

1:27.9

Which is really funny for me because then I just sit down and we started talking. But yeah, it was cool for me. I mean, I've like eventually, I don't know. I've always said you can like rent out these type of place. I know you're never going to do that. I know you're never going to do it. but like it's almost legit enough where you can be like this is kind of a podcast studio.

1:46.9

Well, that was the point. Yeah. I do worry, though, about when we have a sofa bed in here. Just from what? Like, where's the desk going? I still don't understand where the desk is going. Yeah. I mean, the desk just won't be in here. Yeah. Or against that wall back there. Maybe I get a mini desk for in here. Yeah, maybe. We'll see. But yeah, that's exciting. I'm really excited. So I mean, there's lights up. There's two cameras up. You're going to get a monitor in here. Like, we got the microphones on like a stand. I'm not like holding it. We got two chairs. We're going to get a little table here. We're going to get a rug. It's like a legit little studio in here. It's very cool. What I'm very excited for is we have these canvases. They're like square canvas prints of podcast covers that I've done. So the first one was the Dating
