1:04.1	I want to let you know that over the last few years, tens of thousands of people have drowned in the Mediterranean.
1:13.7	Those numbers are not exaggerations, have drowned in the Mediterranean as the small boats
1:20.9	upon which they were crowded, founded, and sank.
1:26.3	And my question to you, whilst that might seem an unseemly frivolous question about a very serious topic,
1:33.6	it nonetheless is actually a very serious question.
1:36.0	And that is, of these tens of thousands of people who have drowned in the Mediterranean Ocean,
1:42.9	how many of them were people trying to get from Europe
1:47.6	to Africa, and how many of them were people trying to get from Africa to Europe?
1:53.7	You would have thought that if an specific number of accidents or drownings took place, then half of them would be from
2:05.8	one side of the ocean and half them would be from the other.
2:08.4	Just logically and statistically, the answer should be, well, I guess half of them were
2:15.2	trying to get from Europe to Africa and probably half of them were trying to get from Africa to Europe.
2:19.5	I mean, just think about it. If there are going to be, shall we say, 10 accidents on Interstate 5 running up and down the Pacific coast during the course of today, wouldn't you think, well,
