What to expect economically from a second Trump administration.

President-elect Donald Trump's nominee for

Treasury Secretary Scott Besant appeared before the Senate Finance Committee for his confirmation

hearing late last week. In his opening statement, he set out an economic thesis for the second

Trump administration. Today, I believe that President Trump has a generational opportunity to unleash a new economic

golden age that will create more jobs, wealth, and prosperity for all Americans.

We recently spoke with Minnesota Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan to hear how she's looking at the next four years.

She has a close eye on how reproductive rights restrictions could impact women's economic lives.

I think the next two years, four years, we are going to see shock and awe, I think, coming out of Washington, and we have to steal ourselves for what is ahead.

And I will continue to do that, of course, as an elected leader.

But my vocation will, is the same no matter what occupation I hold it is making sure that people are seen

heard valued protected and believed and that I raise my daughter to continue to be able to fully

show up as her indigenous health as a strong young native woman and it certainly got harder with this last election. But the things that we have done here, protecting access to abortion, paid family and medical leave, historic investments in child care, workforce development, all of those things, right, will provide a strong foundation for women and their

families. President-elect Trump's swearing-in ceremony starts at 12 p.m. Eastern today. U.S. markets are

closed today in observance of Martin Luther King Day. They reopen tomorrow at 9.30 a.m. Wall Street time.
