And when your thoughts start to run away from you, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and stuck. Here are three ways to stop worrying before it gets out of control. What to Do When Your Child Is Anxious with Sissy Goff My guest for today, Sissy Goff, has been a counselor for 30 years. In our interview, she shares practical tips on how to spot the warning signs of anxiety in our kids and how to love them well through mental health challenges. Don't Worry About THIS . . . "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life . . ." Matthew 6:25 (NIV) I love this passage because it reminds us that it's actually possible to train our minds not to worry! Instead of listening to negative thoughts and worrying about the same old problems, we can choose to focus on our heavenly Father, who loves us and is always taking care of us. Easier said than done, right? To help make this truth a reality, spend some time journaling your answers to these questions: What do you worry about the most? How does Matthew 6:25\xad-34 help you remember not to worry? What comfort do you find when you remember that God will take care of you?
