Do you want to build an empire?

Everything that’s required to achieve extraordinary results and, ultimately, build an empire is surprisingly simple – but that doesn’t mean everyone is doing those things. So in this with Geoff Woods episode, we discuss some of the simple little things that most entrepreneurs are not doing, preventing them from achieving the extraordinary growth they desire.

Geoff Woods is the Vice President of The ONE Thing and the hosts The ONE Thing podcast which is in the top 5% of all podcasts in the world.

IN THIS EPISODE YOU WILL LEARN:
- How you can identify the talent you need
- Why you shouldn’t be on this entrepreneurial journey alone (and who you’re likely missing)
- How to get clarity on your vision partway through building a business and don’t know how to scale any further

You can hear more Geoff Woods at The Capitalism Conference (Jan 21-23 in Dallas), where Geoff will be a guest speaker.

I want to form the habit of thinking time. Time every day where I purposefully sit down to think,

0:08.7

to ask big questions, to get clear so that I am moving through the day purposefully rather than

reacting. It takes one free person to create change. This is the show for them. We are the creators of the free world.

This is capitalism.com and we are the 1%. Hey, one percenters, welcome to capitalism.com. This is

Ryan Daniel Moran. And today I'm going to be joined again by my buddy,

0:40.2

advisor, confidant colleague Jeff Woods, vice president of the one thing. I go back to Jeff

0:47.3

over and over again because Jeff has, well, a perspective on empire building that I find

0:53.6

very, very helpful and useful. And so today,

million or sometimes even the 10 million by following a strategy,

by pursuing the money. But we very rarely build a business, build an empire bigger than ourselves,

without graduating to a different level of thinking. And that level of thinking, as Jeff would put it,

1:27.7

means succeeding through others. It means getting people to buy into something and build it on your

1:33.9

behalf. Now, this is something that I've very openly struggled with of building and managing a team.

1:39.5

I'm probably ahead of a lot of my peers, but I have not yet built the empire that I ultimately

1:45.4

want, and it's even a struggle for me to learn how to cast the vision and bring the people on.

1:52.2

And it's a skill set that I've really had to work hard at doing, and I learned by mistakes,

1:57.6

and boy, I made a lot of them.

1:59.0

And Jeff and I have had many conversations at the gym or over wine or hanging out at each other's houses talking about this. And he has

2:07.9

really helped to coach me to become a better leader and a better thinker, especially when

2:15.2

it comes to casting a long-term vision. You'll hear me
