This is LBC from Global, leading Britain's conversation with James O'Brien.

0:10.3

It's three minutes after ten, and you are listening to James O'Brien on LBC, where we find

ourselves contemplating an absolutely incredible vista of news stories involving misdemeanors,

0:25.6

alleged misdemeanors, impropriety and power. Both types of power, of course, political power,

0:32.6

as evinced by the Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who is now under investigation for a relationship with a second woman who may have

0:40.3

represented a conflict of interest during his time as mayor of London. This woman actually did give birth to one of his children, one of the children that we are allowed to know about and talk about.

It's a bit immature to get on your high horse about the royal family. I'm not saying it is. I'm just telling you that to me, that's how it began to feel. I think that's part of the problem, actually. That's like gaslit nation, 101, isn't it? It's always been there, therefore, there can't be anything fundamentally wrong with it. Of course, if we subscribe to that worldview, we'd still be sending children up chimneys. And slavery would never have been.

2:18.9

Well, we've always done that.

2:20.6

How dare anyone come along and put a cat amongst the proverbial pigeons?

2:24.6

It's tradition, it's convention, it's normal.

2:27.9

It really isn't, is it?

2:29.4

It takes moments like this after Prince Andrews,

2:32.0

absolute, at this point for me incomprehensible
