Thank you. True Crime Podcast. More than a decade after stabbing her friend,

22-year-old Morgan Geiser has been granted early release from a mental health facility by a Wisconsin judge.

In 2014, Geyser and her friend Anisa Weyer lured their other friend, Peyton Lightner, into a park in Waukesha.

It was there that Geyser and Weir stabbed Peyton 19 times in order to appease the fictional horror character,

Slender Man. Despite being left for dead with life-threatening injuries, Peyton was able to drag herself

to a road where she was discovered by a cyclist. Geyser was charged with first-degree attempted homicide,

but was ultimately found not guilty by reason of mental disease.

On Thursday, January 9th, Waukesha County Circuit Judge Michael Boren granted Geyser's release after determining she maximized her treatment options

and ordered the State Department of Health Services to set up a plan for housing

and supervising her in a group home for his consideration at a hearing within 60 days.

Paul, what do you make of this recent development?

So I think that many of us react to something like this and feel like somebody got away with
