Welcome back to buck I talk I'm Nathan Baird from Cleveland.com along with Stephen Means and we just got back from Value City Arena, the Schottenstein Center,

where we were at the press conference for new Ohio State men's basketball coach Jake Deibler and obviously it's been a

Process to get to this point Chris Holman being fired. What was it about six weeks ago and you know midway through the Big Ten season and Ohio State

then instituted a search and it led them to a guy who has been in the building the whole

time and the guy who led the team to a six and one record before then a loss in the big ten tournament so six and two and

did seem to light a spark under this team and today at the arena there was sort of a what they tried I guess to make sort of a

pep rally feel in some ways I walked in and there were cheerleaders there giving away posters of Jake Deebler and obviously a moment where they're trying to

you know get some energy going and and Deebler did that obviously and the team did that on its own the way that it finished the season but Stephen we talked to

Jake Depler at length we talked to Ross biorke the new athletic director at length

Gene Smith also chimed in he was there more today as sort of an

MC but what was the thing that maybe you wanted to know the most or have

confirmed or or however you want to say it as to why Ohio State moved forward with this promotion

rather than what we speculated at the time would be a national search where you could sort of name your price a little bit and go out and try to land a experienced well-known big fish.
