In a federal courthouse in Manhattan, 79-year-old E. Jean Carroll has been showing up day after day

to submit to a grueling line of questioning. She's suing former President Donald Trump, alleging

he sexually assaulted her nearly three decades ago. Slate's Christina Katarucci has been
