For centuries, one of my colleagues here at Slate watched the whole thing and summed it

up like this.

Tucker Carlson's show died as it lived.

But once again, they're using fake allegations of racism as a pretext for a political plan.

What my colleague meant here was that Tucker Carlson's last broadcast was both mundane and

alarming.

All at once Carlson shamed Democrats for calling out racism.

He compared transgender people to members of a cult, and he said Joe Biden wanted to

import voters from cities to the suburbs.

So you can't be safe in a leafy suburb anymore, it has to be urbanized.

And even though Carlson was about to be yanked off the air, there was no sign that anything

was amiss.
