Earlier this summer, Texas Monthly Reporter Russell Gold took a trip to Dickens County.

It's a remote and rural area of Texas.

This is high plains, Texas.

There's not a lot out there.

And you're just driving mile after mile after mile of sort of rolling land.

And then Google Maps tells you to turn off onto this dirt road, which doesn't make a lot of sense.

And then all of a sudden, sort of behind this large electrical substation is this enormous warehouse in the middle of nowhere.

It's about three football fields long. It's a white warehouse-type metal frame facility.
