So let's talk about the priesthood itself.

This episode is, what is a vocation to the priesthood?

So we're going to be talking about all these different aspects of it.

But let's start by asking a simpler question, and that is, what's so great about the priesthood? Why do we need priests?

Well, the, you know, the man has a natural, even a natural necessity to practice the virtue of religion.

He is created by God and needs to honor God. And, you know,

man is both body and soul. So there are those interior acts of religion by which we, we offer

our adoration to God or Thanksgiving to God, etc. And that has to be a truly human thing has to express itself outwardly as well.

So it's it's you know we we express our interior sentiments by exterior signs.

And the most important of those exterior signs is the offering of sacrifice.

So this this idea of sacrifice that we find, you know ancient world, and we find in Holy Scripture, in the Old Testament, in, you know, in the pre-Mosaic times, the offering of sacrifice, and then codified very particularly in the Mosaic law, and that passing into the New Testament priesthood,

giving way to the priesthood of our Lord Jesus Christ himself.
