Well, thank you everybody for joining us. I'm Father Chris, one of the Miriam priests here at the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy.

We are honored that you are with us as we continue our series of talks on Saturdays called Explaining the Faith.

And this is a very, very interesting topic for a couple of reasons. Number one is I always enjoy taking you guys

back to seminary. I saved all my notes. I saved all my books. But I went to seminary 10 years ago,

and there wasn't a whole lot of talk then about our topic today, which is what is woke and isn't it

Christian? It sounds very Christian. And we're going to be talking about that today and excited.

Now, however, although I didn't learn a lot in seminary, I've done so much research on this.

And I thank you, our theologians, Chris Sparks.

I had help from some of our employees, Jackie and others.

And I've been talking to other priests.

In fact, I even found a seminarian, a diocesan seminarian last week, and he shared with me

tons of stuff that they are talking about in their seminary. He's a seminarian last week and he shared with me tons of stuff that they are talking about

in their seminary he's a seminarian currently and so we're going to share all this with you and let's

entrust it to god and let us begin with a prayer in the name of the father and to the son and of the

holy spirit amen heavenly father we ask that you send St. Michael down

to protect us against the evil, the evil of trying to thwart your church and your work of mercy.

We ask that the evil one be held at bay, that this message of mercy be given to the world.

Mother Mary, you wrap your mantle around us,

and Jesus, we trust in you.

And we offer all of this through Christ, our Lord.
