Welcome back. It is time for us once again to dive into the scriptures to help us orient our thinking for this day.

Around the truth of God's word, I often say it is time to align our minds with the truth of God.

I feel like that's a great way to say it because something about the rhyming of that phrase

sticks and it helps us to remember this is our goal. We want of that

And we've been doing that in the last three to four episodes.

By beginning to look at the book of first

Peter in the new testament now this is a letter Peter wrote to some believers in

Jesus Christ just like you and me.

And my friends, this is really hard to do

in five minute little bites because every sentence is tied to the one before.

So I want to just recap for you what Peter has said. He's saying God has chosen us to be

believers in Jesus Christ. He's given us salvation through Jesus resurrection. By that

resurrection he's given us an inheritance that will never fade away.

And he has shielded you and me. He's shielded us through our faith for a salvation that is still to come.

You see, yes, we're saved, but there's more to come in the future.

There's a bigger scope to the salvation we've received that we don't even comprehend yet. And then in

verse number six he says in this you rejoice. So my friends I hope you rejoice in the fact that God has chosen you and

forgiven you and given you out of his abundance this great salvation that we

possess and that we will receive more of in the future.

He's saying in this you rejoice,

though now, for a little while if necessary,
