Work was life and then you have this Sabbath rhythm that's built into creation, but then commanded as part of the Ten Commandments.

It was meant to be an overt interruption to the work life.

in God, then do the work. I think a lot of families can agree that it's harder than ever to make ends meet

and that it takes a lot of work to just feel like you're keeping up.

And I think it leads a lot of couples into a kind of a perilous place where work is

taking too much time, maybe taking too much focus.

A lot of wives in this episode we're talking about if you're a Christian wife and your husband is putting work ahead of the family. So I want to ask you, Selena, have you ever felt that way in our lives? We've been married 22 years. Of course, yes. Of course. Yes. I think it's a natural thing to feel. But there's a lot of contributing factors, right? because if I'm feeling disconnected all the time, it wouldn't matter if you were working a thousand hours a week or like two hours a week, you know, however I interpret that, that that plays a role. But also, what's another contributing factor? Well, maybe you're in a season of harvest. And for us, that's usually like the later end of the year. And it's kind of like it's a push.

And so there's other things that kind of get pushed to the wayside because we're focusing on harvesting well.

And then there's seed time, which is a different season.

And so I think no matter what season you find yourself in, you have to either recognize it's a season.
