Summary

Love yourself to unlock your freedom, peace, light, and joy. Navigating relationships with narcissistic or low-empathy parents can be complex for highly sensitive individuals, often leaving them feeling anxious or self-doubting. Embracing the reality of one’s upbringing and committing to self-love and healing can foster resilience and improve mental health, setting the stage for inner peace and healthier connections in life. I have learned an important lesson from my clients about parenting and relationships - that it is necessary work to figure out how to negotiate with parents who have a mix of narcissistic and warm traits. I have also learned that some families have a level of mind control and dysfunction that is cult-like, and that it is important to draw boundaries and speak up for yourself. In addition, I have seen the benefits of unconventional therapy including psychedelics. Finally, I have learned that love is more than just a feeling, but a practice, consistency, faith and respect for yourself and others. "What doesn't kill us does make us stronger. That cliche is true. And after it makes us stronger, it also helps us become freer." Here's what I cover in this episode: 1. How can understanding one's own family dynamics help bring peace and freedom? 2. What are the potential benefits of using psychedelics as a mental health treatment? 3. What does it mean to practice self-love, and how can it help us relate to others?
