It is a very exciting thing to become leader of the Conservative Party

and particularly exciting I think to follow one of the most remarkable leaders

that the Conservative Party has ever had.

As I stand here for number 10 down Street. I know the huge responsibility for this

impotony and the great trust in the British people have place.

This will be a new government. British people have a place.

This will be a new government with new priorities. And I have been privileged to have been granted the great opportunity to serve my country.

In terms of the future, our country has a hung parliament where no party has an overall majority,

and we have some deep and pressing problems.
