What happens regularly today that would horrify a person from 100 years ago?

Fun fact, when the escalator was first introduced, it only went up a few feet,

and whiskey was given to calm the nerves of people who tried it,

so probably the fact that those exist and they're taking people hundreds of feet into the air.

My dad told me my great-grandfather was appalled that a restroom was inside the house.

The amount of married couples without kids compared to the amount of unmarried couples with kids

and Germany's position in the world. Oh, if I met a person from a hundred years ago,

oh, you're from 1925, so World War I is still going on, right?

What do you mean one? Oh, those people would not be prepared for modern movies with

CGI realism. Take them to a new horror movie and that would literally horrify them. With no

idea what a computer can create visually, they'd have to assume people are getting slaughtered on camera for the entertainment value. I remember reading that back then, people were

terrified by the ending of the Great Train Robbery, where the main robber fires his gun

directly toward the camera. Access to the most WTF adult material you can find online.

A hundred years ago is 1925, not long after the Great War, so maybe airplanes? I live near a small airstrip, so I hear light aircraft so often that

it's just part of the background noise now. But I imagine that in the dawn of aviation, when planes

had been newly used for war, it would

be pretty horrific. People running around everywhere half naked for health. Nuclear weapons

might horrify them, also seeing how overdeveloped their old homes might be, especially if they

had a farm near a city. Hey, do you still use those bombs after we won World War

1 and bought peace? Or did you discard them all? Oh, we made one that could level a city in World

War II. I think what's fascinating about theoretical comparisons like this is that there were

people who lived through the trench warfare and even straight-up melee cavalry charges of prior
