The higher black women climb, the more they are expected to control and suppress their emotions.

Sometimes to a debilitating effect.

So what would you suggest for black women who are climbing up that ladder

and it's like all these expectations, don't let them see you sweat,

can't let them see you cry, as a black woman.

It's almost as if you are not allowed to have any kind of reactions, emotions, nothing.

Whether you're outside the home or inside the home.

I think it speaks to what you were saying.

It's that we carry so much of that weight around with us.
