I learned the hard way that the communication in this arena is absolutely vital. It's really important because we're in such a limited timeframe to get this message across effectively.

You can say, hey, here's a way we can stabilize the climate where we boost the world economy rather than cripple the world economy. You won't have to have politicians pass laws.

But people see a strong economic motivation to stabilize the climate. They'll do it tomorrow. And frankly, I think we need to do it tomorrow.

Well, today we're asking what does the science of climate change tell us about the future of the world COP26, the UN Climate Change Conference is underway in Glasgow.

In recent years, the predictions around climate change have become increasingly apocalyptic. The most recent IPCC report warns that we are approaching a tipping point and that greenhouse gas emissions must be reduced to net zero by 2050 for a climate crisis to be averted.

While activist groups like Extinction Rebellion are becoming ever more extreme in some ways in their protests, other so-called Luke Warmers believe that there's too much alarmism among climate change activists that the picture isn't necessarily as bleak as painted.

So what does the science of climate change actually say? What constitutes a reasonable and ultimately Christian approach to tackling it?

Hugh Ross and Antonio Godber join me to talk it through on today's show. Hugh Ross is the founder of the Faith and Science Ministry, reasons to believe he's an astrophysicist by background.

And his recent book, Weathering Climate Change, says that the Earth has been in an unusually long period of climate stability and he looks at the data for recent climate change advocating for a non-alarmist approach to providing practical solutions.

Antonio Godber is a climate change campaigner who's passionate about encouraging sustainable and ethical lifestyles to ensure future generations can inherit a healthy planet.

She'll also be contributing to an online COP26 coalition event this weekend actually on how to talk to kids and parents about climate.
