but in the manner in which it happened, I don't think. Many Notre Dame followers saw that coming.

Yeah, I mean, I think no one would be too strong, but not by a lot, because I think that we

expected Michigan State to not play as well as they did

at the quarterback position and I think particularly on the offensive line like that wasn't a

great Michigan State offensive line but they played great against Notre Dame and even though

Notre Dame's defensive line made a few plays early they ultimately got beat up pretty good so So that was a surprise to me.

The game plan falling completely on Deshaun Kaiser, that's not a surprise.

And I think that's just sort of the way it has to be moving forward,

whether Brian Kelly wants to publicly acknowledge that or not,

because where Notre Dame is defensively is not, they're just not in a good way right now

it's the last 19 games against power five teams they've given up 30 points or more to 12 of them

of the seven they haven't five of them finished with losing records in michigan states definitely

going to have a winning record this year and i mean the red the red zone defense, nine, or excuse me, 10 penetrations, nine touchdowns allowed.

That's not good enough.

I mean, that's, I don't care how many points people are scoring in college football today.

I don't care about your special team's mistakes or your offensive inefficiencies.

Your defense just has got to get better.
