There's this veneer of media objectivity,

where it's like nothing to see here,

don't worry about it, where objective, where objective.

And then the ownership structure has completely changed.

You have the more successful national media organizations

that have become polarized because of audience share,

generally.

If you decide to become a little more partisan,

then you can actually get a more consistent audience.

What's partly so frustrating is, in addition to the bias

that it exists, but that there's a certain invisibility

to the bias among mainstream corporate outlets.

So I will often hear people say,

if I tweet out an intercept article, oh gosh,

that's your source for saying X, Y, and Z,

I'm not going to believe it, which is kind of opposite

of what you should be thinking.
