What are the dumbest questions you've had to field out of nowhere?

A few months ago, a TSA officer asked me about the intention of your eyeglasses.

I told him, so that I can see, and went on my way.

My friend was stopped by a TSA agent after arriving at LAX and taken into a separate room for questioning.

He has a lazy eye and looks like he's on something pretty much all of the time.

Another agent walked up to his dad and asked in a really aggressive voice, is there anything

you don't know about your son that we should know about?

A TSA agent in Vermont was checking out my hunting shotty before sending it through to be loaded

onto the plane.

He comes up to me after a few minutes and asks,

This weapon has tested positive for explosive residue.

I said, like gunpowder?

TSA dude said, oh, and hangs his head and walks away. My five-year-old is mixed

ethnicity, doesn't obviously look like me to people not used to seeing mixed kids, and doesn't

speak English. So when I took him to the US via San Francisco last time by myself, I was quite

seriously interrogated until I finally told them,

it's too bad you don't have any agents who speak Japanese, or you could just ask my son.

Of course, I said this while pointing at an agent a few meters away, whose name tag read

Mariyama. They called her over, and in about five seconds it was cleared up.

Hi, little boy, what's your name?

Then confirmed with passport, and who's this?

Okay, you and your dad have a nice trip.
