We talk a lot about the news stories about the Trump indictments.

You know, we've never indicted a president.

There are constitutional scholars that would argue you can't.

See, without boring you, I want to make sure you understand the real gravity of what's

happening now.

This nation has always had a sort of unspoken belief in the presidency, not the president

himself, but the presidency.

And we've sort of taken it as a came.

The idea that you wouldn't serve more than two terms.

That became a tradition, not a law, when George Washington stepped down after two terms.

So it would be repeated afterwards.

President can only serve for two terms.

And they did, at most, it was understood.

Toward the end of your second year, you began winding down.

It was time to pass the baton.

The monarchy was offered to George Washington, and he resisted and rejected that.

So we had something like a, not a king, but this concept of a president that today we've

added, we filled in the details.

That was really a rough outline.

Oh, sure, article two of our constitution lays out the parameters of the president.

But there are certain things that over a period of time, you have to develop through caselo,
