Summary

Join me every Monday for a quick burst of inspiration on our “Monday Moment” segment.

My forthcoming book IN AWE has been in the work for several years. A few weeks ago I was able to share a few advance reader copies with a few business leaders, mentors + friends I deeply admire.

Today I share a short message my dear friend Don asked me to share with the Live Inspired community after he finished reading IN AWE.

  • "It's vintage O'Leary - priceless stories, the inclusion of the reader in the journey and the encouragement to overcome malaise, self-doubt and cynicism."
  • "IN AWE gets us beyond surviving and to thriving."

Tune in to hear more from Don.

To help combat fear, isolation and other uncertainty around coronavirus, I created a 21-day challenge to inspire our community to focus on what they can control and to remain ferociously optimistic that their best remains ahead. Sign up for the IN AWE 21-Day Challenge here.

practicing like everyone else around the United States and around the world, a little bit of

social distancing. I think we all have to do our part to resolve

0:39.0

this issue as safely and as effectively as we possibly can as a community. You also may know that my

0:47.0

second book in awe has been in the works now for several years. I was finally able to send out

0:53.5

some advanced copies to some media,

0:56.0

a couple business owners, a few dear friends from the past, people that I've really had an

1:00.5

opportunity to get to know whose opinion I truly respect. It's a small group of folks.

1:05.4

I dropped them off with my mail carrier, her name is Lewin, barely had an opportunity to return to my office

1:11.8

when the phone started ringing, when email started beeping, when I started getting feedback

1:16.3

from these folks, these leaders, these people on what they thought about the book.

1:21.6

And ah, you talk about nerve-wrecking, you know? It's like they're judging your work. What

1:25.5

will they think? Well, the feedback to this point has been incredibly positive.

1:30.1

And about a week or so after I sent those letters out with the books within them,

1:34.1

a dear friend named Don works at a large hospital in St. Louis sent me a moving and a heartfelt letter.

1:42.0

He later recorded a short message and asked if I would play

1:46.2

today for the live-inspired community. So without farther ado, one person's response and reaction

1:52.5

to the book, in awe, his name is Don Eggelson. I know you'll love it. My name's Don

I've known John O'Leary for 12 years. In that time, I was able to bring John into work in our organization as a speaker and a consultant, and he was marvelous. I have to tell you, I am in awe of in awe. I think it's a really remarkable book. I thought on fire was a tremendous book,

2:21.3

and this one is even more so. It's also very timely. I think John has really provoked us in this book
