We begin with the White House budget blueprint unveiled today.

The proposal would pump more money into defense and homeland security,

while cutting spending on programs the Trump administration has already targeted,

including education, foreign aid, environment, health, and public assistance programs.

President Donald Trump's proposal would increase defense spending to $1 trillion and provide a historic $175 billion investment for border security.

That's according to an Office of Management and Budget Letter sent to the chair of the Senate

Appropriations Committee and obtained by CNN.

The blueprint is an outline of Trump's vision and recommendations to Congress for fiscal year 2026 spending.

The lawmakers are not required to follow it.

A more comprehensive plan is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
