But before I get into our conversation with Wes, I wanted to talk about this power sharing agreement

that a lot of individuals have been talking about between majority leader Chuck

Schumer and now minority leader Mitch McConnell. This is the first big fight

of the Biden administration in this congressional session.

The outcome of this fight around the power sharing agreement will affect literally everything

as possible for the first half of the Biden administration.

In case you missed it, as it's customary

at the beginning of every Congress,

the Senate establishes the rules for the next two years.

This power sharing agreement or organizing resolution, as you may hear it described in the press, sets

forth how the parties share power in a 50-50 Senate.

Everything from committee to the all-important question of whether or not progress will require 60 votes or a simple majority of 50 votes.

And until there's such an agreement, Republicans still control Senate committees, even though

Democrats control the agenda for four votes. I'm going to say that again because I

know most of you thought that when Warnock and Osoff were sworn in, that mean we controlled everything

at that moment.

But a true majority where we control everything only happens once a power sharing agreement

And we don't have one now. So what that means is the
