What is the Protestant Reformation, and why does it matter to the modern Christian?

All right. Now, I know that this is a Bible study, but the truth is, we're probably not going to be in the Bible that much because we're going through church history.

And church history is, I think, one of the most neglected dimensions of Christian life.

We get a little bit of it in a sermon here and there, but the average Christian doesn't know

much prior to maybe 1950, let alone anything in the early church era, the patristic era, the medieval era,

the Reformation era, post-Reformation era. And so there is a framework that we need to understand
