We're going to start with a simple math equation, and this is coming from someone who really doesn't enjoy math except for counting money.

You have two cars. They're going from Los Angeles to Chicago. One car is someone who just is taking the risk and is going to go a hundred miles per hour on average to get there and is going to take roads that they've mapped out where they know they can get away with going faster. Then you have the other person who's a more

conservative driver, safe person and they don't want to take that risk and so they're taking the safest roads.

The route that has like the least risk and they're going on average 50 miles per hour from LA to Chicago.

Which person do you think gets to the destination faster?

Now, you don't have to be great at math to go well obviously the person who's driving at a

hundred miles per hour but not if they're going a hundred miles per hour in the wrong direction or taking the long route.

They're taking the route, they're zigzagging all over the place, going up high grade, mountain ranges.

It doesn't matter that they're going faster because they're going the longer way, the harder

way where there's detours and roadblocks and setbacks

versus the person who's going slow and steady the entire way which is the direct route, the route that's been proven, the route that's planned,

the route that will get you there in one piece where you're not going to end up in an accident or

having multiple flat tires. My point in this analogy is it's a

lesson that I had to learn the hard way in order for me to be able with conviction to teach it to millions and millions of you

and that we often think that by doing more and forcing and pushing and showing up and going going going that we're going

to get what we want whether it's the money the abundance the growth whatever the

success get there faster. But in fact, if you really are not following a proven

map and a proven plan, you're expending all of that energy and time and you might not ever reach your

destination and this happened to me with my first business. More on this as we get into this episode of the weird shit
