In this episode of The Oddcast, we want to go a little bit deeper with a comedian whose work we absolutely love, the British comic Sarah Milliken. We always have an odd woman in the crowd, so it's kind of odd. I'm excitedly odd. Isn't that strike you as a little bit odd? No, it doesn't strike me as a little bit odd. It's the Bob and Sherry Oddcast, with stuff we wouldn't, couldn't, or shouldn't do on the regular show. Now, here's the odd cast.

So on the regular daily Bob and Sherry show, we have a feature that we launched way back in the

beginning of the COVID pandemic when everybody was so, like, freaked out and bummed out.

It's called Everyone Needs a Laugh. And we did it for a couple of reasons. We wanted to give people just something silly and

funny to laugh at. And we wanted to help the comedy industry. We have a lot of friends who are

stand-up comedians. And when COVID hit, the club shut down. And these people couldn't work.

We featured some of them on our weekly happy hour and we have

featured, I've lost hundreds of comedians on everyone needs a laugh because what started off as

a little like, hey, here's something fun for the pandemic. When we came out of the pandemic,

when we came out of COVID lockdowns people were like oh keep doing that

I love it so we turned it into a regular feature of the show and every weekday we put a comedian on blast

and we feature their work right so one of the comedians that we absolutely love and have featured a handful

of times is a British comic named Sarah Milliken.

We always have to bleep the bejeebers out of Sarah's sets.

But she's really funny and really smart.

And we're going to play a bit for you here where she's talking about how much she hates what the tabloids do to her.

Yeah. about how much she hates what the tabloids do to her. I don't get in the newspapers very much, which is a good thing because I'm a very private person.

But a few months ago, there's a story about me in the Irish mirror.

Started in the Irish mirror and I moved across to all of the UK tabloids as well.

And the story was this. The story was that I'd been on a huge health kick and had lost a dramatic amount of weight. Now I can't see all of your faces, but the ones I can see down here, you're right to have this expression on them. Huh? I've not been on a health kick, I've not lost any weight, and I'm fatter than I've ever been, and I could not give less of a shit.
