Summary
Richard Hubbard once weighed 350 pounds and was gaining weight at an alarming rate. He would often order three Big Macs at a time to satisfy an insatiable appetite for fast food.
Worried that his health would soon fail, Richard's doctor prescribed medication for high blood pressure. Not wanting to trade pills for another trip through the drive-thru, he challenged his doctor to allow him to hold off on taking the prescription. His doctor never thought he would succeed, but today Richard is more than 150 pounds lighter and healthier than ever!
Richard joins "The Weight Loss Champion" Chuck Carroll on The Exam Room™ to share his remarkable journey. The pair also compare their experiences of what it was like to be morbidly obese. From the off-handed remarks from others that resulted in low self-esteem to their "last supper" with massive quantities of fast food, they share what it is truly like for those struggling to get their weight and health under control. More importantly, Richard also shares what it takes to finally make a health breakthrough and keep the weight off for good!
Plus, Dr. Vanita Rahman discusses the science of weight loss, including the way the food found on restaurant menus is engineered to contain the perfect balance of salt, sugar, and fat to get people hooked. She also covers how vegans who don't shy away from carbs tend to weigh less than those eating a low-carb diet that promises to slim you down!
Chuck also talks about the Dairy Does A Body Bad report from Switch4Good.
