I'm John Fueglesang and it is a pleasure to be here with a very special guest today.

I grew up in America with a very diverse family, half Brooklyn, half Southern,

which makes me legally bilingual.

My mom called us y'all, my dad called us rat bastards, but I grew up with a very great experience of having a family that didn't see eye to eye politically but still loved each other.

And I think most of us have that experience. You wouldn't know it from our media culture

and our political culture which seems determined to keep us at each other's throats all the time

but every day in this country millions who disagree get along just fine and they don't make headlines for it.

And that's why I'm so pleased to welcome this very special guest for a very special book.

Dr. Phil McGraw, you may have heard of, he's the author of 10 New York Times bestsellers and for 21 seasons he hosted the

award-winning talk show Dr. Phil, one of the most successful daytime shows in TV history

and he currently hosts Dr. Phil Primetime on his own cable network, Merritt Street Media.
