Summary

On today's Weekend Review edition of The Total Soccer Show, Ryan Bailey and Graham Ruvthen break down 4 big games from this past weekend:

0:00 - Tottenham vs. Arsenal: Kane and Son combine to pour more misery on Mikel Arteta, whose side were lacking all over the field.

27.40 - Liverpool vs. Wolves: Jurgen Klopp’s side were ruthless in their destruction of Wolves, who instilled a puzzling formation switch in Raul Jimenez’s absence…

44.19 - Bayern Munich vs. RB Leipzig: The most thrilling match of the weekend took place in Bavaria, where Bayern Munich’s passive approach to defending allowed Leipzig to stay within a sniff of title contention!

57.45 - Cadiz vs. Barcelona: The Catalans slumped to their fourth league defeat of the season against a highly impressive Cadiz side who have already taken points from Real Madrid and Athletic Club in this campaign.

Hello,

0:02.0

Hello everybody, welcome to the Total Soccer Show weekend review.

0:24.6

My name is Ryan Bailey.

0:26.1

And joining me today is the Hong Min-son to my Harry Kane, Graham Ruthman.

0:30.6

Graham, how you doing?

0:32.2

I'm not bad, Ryan.

0:33.1

That's a very flattering description.

0:35.0

I'm not sure I could bend a shot from 30 yards into the top

0:37.9

corner, but I'm willing to give it a go. I think you can certainly do the podcast equivalent of a

0:42.8

bent shot into the top corner. Maybe, maybe Kane and Son is too much for us. So maybe McBurney and

0:48.3

Burke would be a better duo and a Scottish one at that. Yeah, that one works. That's a bit better,

0:53.2

more apt. So I hope you had a great weekend, Graham. I certainly did. And many Premier League fans did as well. Fans back in the stadium for the first time in a long time. 2,000 fans allowed in... Is it every Premier League stadium or is it if you're in a certain tier in the UK? Is that how it worked? Yeah, it's in certain tiers. So as far as I'm aware, it's only London and Liverpool at the moment. So if you're in tier one or tier two, then you're allowed 2,000 fans if you're in tier two and 4,000 fans if you're in tier one. Again, as far as I'm aware, these things change all the times it It's a little bit difficult to keep track, but I don't think we're anywhere in the country's in tier one, so it's limited to 2000 in London, Liverpool, and elsewhere in the country, we're in tier three, and in Scotland, we have a tier four, which we're in at the moment. So we've certainly not got any fans in Glasgow at the moment, but yes, certainly very nice to see

1:45.0

supporters back in the stand. It actually got me slightly emotional, especially for the North London

1:51.5

Derby, just because that's a game that's rooted in community and fans just being back in the

1:57.3

stands makes the game feel more rooted in community. Obviously, it's been a TV event for pretty much all of 2020,

2:04.2

and it just brings it back to those routes.

2:06.8

So, yes, very welcome return to the Premier League, these fans.

2:11.2

Yeah, that's an interesting point about the North London Derby and the fans there,

2:14.1

because I don't know about how it was broadcast in the UK, Graham,

2:16.8

but on the US broadcast, they made a very big thing about fans being back at Anfield.

2:21.6

You know, it's the first time fans have been allowed in since they won the league, obviously.

2:26.6

But there's this perception that being a fan is more special if you're at Anfield than anywhere
