Hello, everybody, and welcome to the Total Soccer Show. I am your co-host for today, Taylor Rockwell, because I'm joined in studio by The Man, The Myth, the Legend. Daryl Grove, back for the weekend review. What an intro. Yeah, we fired Ryan Bailey. Oh, man. Well, first of all, we put on a two-week suspension until he gets it together and stops caring about tennis. He'll be back next week. You're here with me now. And I will say now, with confidence,

it is way easier to do the introduction with a person in studio. Face to face. Yes. And not being like, we have neighbors all around us who are hearing me scream at nothing. Ryan Bailey will return. Yes. I will continue to get Mondays off. You will. To recuperate. Yes. But I'm here today. You are. I've got one thumb up, thumb up and one thumb down, and I can nearly say the whole

phrase.

It's a thumbs up, thumbs down weekend review.

By the way, you can take over hosting now. I just wanted to do the introduction. Okay. It's a surprise everyone. Well, like we said, thumbs up, thumbs down. Yes. first of all

so with MLS playoffs and coming back, I felt like we were in an area with very limited cell reception. We didn't have Wi-Fi, and so suddenly when we did, it was like this weird returning to civilization and everyone had aged 100 years and things had advanced and I didn't really know what was happening. It always takes some time. All the league tables have changed. Yes, exactly. A bunch of MLS teams are eliminated. Yeah. It is a lot though, so I appreciate you doing that. We should note that we're going to go sort of light on MLS on this episode because we're going to have Joe Lowry joining us to do a more in-depth tactical analysis of the games that happened and the more expert analysis. That's a better way to put it. Yes. I'm going to say it. I want to start with the big game in England. Not Wolfs, Southampton. I want to start with Manchester United Liverpool. So finish 1-1. Rashford scored in the first half. There was a late equalizer from Adam Lalana.

We all start coming.

I'm going to say, thumbs up to Oleguna Salshire for getting his tactics right.

2:11.6

Even though it finished 1-1, I was really impressed with how Salshire set up his team and then

change the shape throughout the game. It should have been enough to get the win if Young and Rojo hadn't kind of switched off right at the end. I agree with you now on everything you just said. In the moment when I saw that lineup, I was a little bit terrified. I did put myself in a position to have cell reception to be able to watch that game on my phone. and when I saw the lineup, especially with Twan Zia going out, with Rojo coming in, I was sort of concerned, confused. Back three was a little bit questionable. Now I'm a little bit more into it. So you're a little emotional when it comes to Manchester United. I can just look at them cold and be like, this works, this didn't work. Oh no, I get that, but I'm saying when you saw those starting 11s, I'm going to assume that you thought like this could be bad.

2:54.4

And that's kind of where I was with this. No, actually, I genuinely thought, that's a lot of pace up front. Really? Yeah. All right. Yeah, because I'm intrigued by this. We've seen men United Kept play a counter attacking game before. that's how Solshire set them up, right?
