Summary

Rankings reaction time! Andy and Ari dish on the committee's third playoff ranking, including: it's about time the Big Ten makes a move to help Ohio State (:30). Plus, Andy and Ari each have plans to help OSU out. Speaking of "out", would the Buckeyes be the odd team out if Florida and Clemson were to win their respective conference championships (15:00)? Ari does is best Captain America impression and, though battered, bruised and tired, stands up to his Thanos-esque opposition and defends USC from possible playoff exclusion (granted they win out in convincing fashion -- 22:30). We play a round of Dismissing Out of Hand (29:30). Under what condition could Andy change his stance on USC (34:30)? Plus, the guys serve up their thoughts on Cincinnati, Indiana and more eye test versus resume talk (42:00).

With me, as always, is Ari Wasserman.

We have just watched Gary Barta flap his gums and say very little. That means it's time to start

0:23.5

talking about the rankings and just what the hell happened on Tuesday, Ari, because

0:29.8

you know, it's, this has been such a weird year. So many strange things have happened,

0:36.1

but I had to sit there for a second and look at it and process that the Ohio State Michigan game got canceled.

0:44.6

And I knew it was going to happen. I mean, we knew a week ago it was going to happen.

0:48.2

But the Ohio State Michigan game got canceled.

0:51.7

Yeah, I know. It's crazy. And, you know, earlier in the week, too, it kind of felt like

0:56.0

things were trending in the right direction. Michigan was having some media availability.

1:00.2

Players were going to potentially be back in practice. And it kind of seemed like they were moving

1:04.6

in that direction. So when that news came down on Tuesday afternoon, it was just like a shock.

1:10.2

Because when you really think about it,

1:11.5

man, 1917, it's been 100 years, more than 100 years since they haven't played that game.

1:17.6

And, you know, first of all, before we start, you know, yelling at each other about the playoff,

1:21.8

I think it's important to just admit, or not admit, but acknowledge that it just sucks.

1:27.9

You know, it used to be one of the best rivalry games in college football.

1:32.0

And, you know, it's a recruiting tactic.

1:33.9

You go to those schools to play in that game, even though Michigan's season and went

1:38.0

off the rails a little bit, that's an opportunity to do something that you can remember

1:41.1

for the rest of your life.

1:42.5

And it's just a terrible thing. Now, I don't know for sure that we can live for the rest of your life. And it's just a terrible thing.
