Nebraska football has a ton of tradition and their fan base incredibly loyal and

they've stuck with them through thick and thin. There's been a lot of thin lately and we all know

this but what most people don't know outside of being in Lincoln is the

Husker fans have a secret weapon. Reverse psychology.

Let me explain.

When I was coaching at South Alabama, we went on the road to play them.

I grew up in the South, and I know the hate road teams catch at this level.

Every place before that we went on the road, the home crowd fans

would scream at us, cuss at us, tell us we're in for the ass beating of a lifetime

and more.

Every place except Nebraska.

The minute we got off the bus at the stadium,

the Nebraska fans welcomed us,

told us good luck, and play well.

This was an absolute Jedi mind trick

because our players, like most, use hate as fuel on the road.
