Summary

Okay, NOW the playoff picture is starting to come into focus. And it all starts with the Ravens and 49ers, the respective 1-seeds in the AFC and NFC. But it was the Lions and Cowboys who played the game of the week in Week 17. That's where Robert Mays and Nate Tice start the Week 17 recap edition of The Athletic Football Show. The guys also discuss the Ravens, Lamar Jackson's likely second MVP, the great seasons in Houston and Indianapolis—regardless of what happens in Week 18—the massive letdown for the Eagles, and much more.

But a long night more in that it was, obviously it was New Year's Eve, but just that it was, you know, when you have a son, when you have a newborn, not a newborn, a one year old, you only get until about 5 a.m. to sleep in, 5.30. So it's a, it was, but it was great because I had to get ready for the show. So kind of like, I knew I had an alarm clock, which is also a nice thing about having a child now. But had a great New Year's party, hosted a bunch of friends. We had a murder mystery party. I did not get the murderer, pick the murderer. I am O for four. It's a tough scene for you, man. O for four on those. I have not picked the murder.

Oh, you haven't? Oh, they're fantastic. Yeah, there's 10 of them now. But yeah, we played, we had a really good round of Jackbox, which was always, always a good way to kind of cap the night.

We all, we all, it was, I love, I like to group karaoke rooms because singing them as a group is fun and a little less stressful and a little less scary. So that's what we did. We just all like saying songs for like two hours and then just went home. I was great. I know. I've never done the group one. I've only done public one. But I always just think about the greatest karaoke performance I've ever seen in my life. Not because of the singing performance, but because of the energy.
