Always appreciate you finishing out the week with us here in the injury update show. We're going to go over all the important injury news that could impact your fantasy lineups this weekend. So let's just dive right in. Let's start with the quarterbacks. And there's one big concerning injury among the QBs. That is Brock Purdy. And the 49ers, they kind of slow played this one. but the news and the reports all went in the wrong direction as the week progressed and let's face it this might not have been the first time that the 49ers actually misled us on the severity of an injury this season but we don't need to get into that the story with Purdy was that he came out of last week's game with some soreness in his throwing shoulder we didn't find out about that until

0:55.5

tuesday when kyle shanahan told the media about it then purdy was limited in

0:59.6

practice on wednesday still seemed like it was minor at that point he came out

1:04.0

for practice on thursday but he left part way through according to beat writers

1:07.8

and he didn't speak to the media that day which he normally does on thursdays then we got news that purdy had an MRI done that came out

1:15.1

this morning and john lynched of general manager he said that they feel good about where it's at

1:20.6

from that standpoint i had no idea what that meant it was basically a non-statement and they

1:25.6

claimed this was all part of the plan but then purdy didn't practice today and now he's been rolled out. So it's going to be Brandon Allen getting the start for the 49ers and that is not good for their skill position players, big downgrades for them coming. And Alan, I mean, he's a similar quarterback style-wise to Purdy, so I would guess that Shanahan's just hoping that he can have a game manager type out there. But there are other quarterback Josh Dobbs. I think he would have been the better one-game option, in my opinion, because we've seen him come in and play pretty well in Spot Starts before, albeit with other teams, but Dobbs, he just tends to get figured out over time. As a one-game fill, he could be really interesting here, but they've announced that it's Allen, and that means Jennings, Debo, they're going to become fringe wide receiver two, wide receiver three's for fantasy. Piercell is going to be a risky dart throw, probably not somebody that you want to start this week, and even Kittles more of a mid-range tight end one in that scenario. Now Christian McCaffrey, he's going to be fine because the offense is going to have to run through him. He's going to get a bunch of dump-offs. And this is a must-win game for San Francisco. And now they're going to be down Purdy. They're going to be down Nick Bosa. That's already been announced. And Trent Williams is questionable. He did not practice practice this week so this is not good for the 49ers only two other injuries at

2:38.2

quarterback one is Jalen Hertz he's dealing with an ankle issue he was back to full

2:42.3

on Thursday he's gonna be fine and then Sam Darnel who had a foot injury same thing

2:46.7

with him he was back to full on Thursday he's gonna play so no worries on either

2:50.8

of them fantasy wise we can go over to running backs next. Josh Jacobs, he popped up with quad and calf injuries this week, was limited through the first two practices of the week. Doesn't really seem to be any concern from the team or from beat writers that he's going to miss this game. So I'm not really worried about it. I would expect that he'll continue to play through it. Just a reminder, think about Stashing the Packers backup running back. And I believe that backup running back at the moment is Chris Brooks. He's been getting more run lately over Manuel Wilson. And we know the story with the rookie Marshaun Lloyd. He was supposed to be returning soon. Likely now going to miss a few more weeks with appendicitis we're

3:24.3

not really sure what his timeline is regardless Jacobs a low-end RB1 even though

3:29.3

this is a tough matchup with the 49ers defense but they've got all those

3:32.7

injuries Purdy's gonna be out I think the Packers are gonna control this game

3:36.6

and I think this is gonna be a fine spot to start Jacobs Aaron Jones he was on the injury report with a rib issue. He's been playing through that recently, but he was full in practice all week so he can fire him up as an RB2 for fantasy. And he has RB1 upside. They've just been splitting the touches there a little more lately. They've been getting Cam Acres involved. So that's why we're bumping Jones down a little bit. On the other side in that game, D'Andre Swift, he's dealing with a groin injury. He missed practice on Wednesday. That got people very worried, but he was back to limited on Thursday, and then he was full on Friday. They're still calling him questionable. I think they're just covering their bases with that because everything that's been said about him. it's all trending in the right direction that he's going to play. Now, the matchup is rough with the Vikings. They're giving up the third few as fantasy points to running backs this year. So take that into consideration. And last week, we also have to remember Swift's first game under their new O.C. Thomas Brown, the Bears got their backup, Roshan Johnson. They got him way more involved in that game. Now, whether that was because Swift got hurt in that game, maybe that's when the groin injury happened or just because that's their new approach under Brown, we don't know for sure. Either way, I would expect that Roshan is going to be involved with Swift's suiting up here. So it's a bad matchup. There's a bit of an injury to Swift. There's a backup who's earning more work. It's just not ideal for Swift this week. So he's down in the RB3 range for me. If he were ruled out by some chance, I don't think that's going to happen. But if he were, Rocheon would step up and take his place as a low-end RB2 or high-end RB3. Isaiah Pacheco, he was practicing all week. He's definitely getting closer to returning, but they get the Panthers in this game. And I think that factored into all of this. There's just no reason to rush him back. They want him healthy to make a Super Bowl run here. They don't need to bring him back for a week 12 game against the Panthers. So they've ruled out Pacheco this week. I assume that means we're going to see him in week 13. But for now, we get one more kick at the can with Kareem Hunt as the starter. And Hunt is just going to devour this matchup. He's a borderline RB1 versus the Panthers. So make sure he's in your lineups, possibly for the last time this season if Pacheco returns next week. Though I do assume that Hunt will still be involved, but he's not going to get anywhere near the kind of touches that he was getting when Pacheco was out. Bucky Irving, he's been playing through that toe injury. He's practicing in full this week. He's going to be out there and I love this matchup for him. I know Todd Bowles and the coaches, they keep talking up, this hot hand approach. But in that approach recently, Irving has just been crushing. That's why I highlighted him as a potential league winner the rest of the way on Wednesday's show with Chris Allen. You can go back and listen to that one if you haven't already. For this week,

6:11.4

Irving's an RB2 in my rankings. The Raiders backfield. It's next tier. Alexander Madison,

6:16.9

Zamir White, they're both hurt. Madison has an ankle injury for White. It's a quad. Neither guy

6:22.2

practiced on Wednesday or Thursday. I tried to wait as late in the day as I could here. They haven't been ruled out yet, but they've both been ruled doubtful. And when a guy's ruled doubtful now, we know what that means. That means that there's a very, very, very small chance that they're going to play. Guys who are doubtful almost always miss. So it's certainly leaning towards them being out. And the matchup with the Broncos isn't great. There's not really an obvious number three backup who's going to step up here, but Amir Abdullah would be the one that would get the start. He'll play the most if those guys are out. And if you have to take somebody from this backfield, that's who I would pick, but I wouldn't feel great about it. I mean, he's going to be most involved as a pass catcher. That's where his value is going to come from. So gets a little bump up and half PPR and full PPR formats. After that, I would think that the rookie Dylan Lobby gets a shot, but it's kind of hard to project anybody doing much in this backfield for fantasy other than Abdullah. And even he's just an RB3 this week. Tage Spears, he's in concussion protocol.

7:18.2

He's been ruled out for week 12.
