It's Monday September 2nd and week one is here people.

That means the daily update moves into regular season mode.

I'll be here every Monday to get you up to speed on injury situations that merit your attention.

Then on Tuesdays through Fridays I'll be joined by my serious XM fantasy sports radio co-host Mike Dempsey.

And together we'll keep you on top of all the major developments including ongoing injury issues,

depth chart and lineup news, and whatever else might impact your lineup decisions each week.

I want to start this one in San Francisco where 49ers rookie receiver Ricky Piercaw was shot during a robbery

attempt Saturday afternoon. He was initially listed in serious but stable condition

after him being hit in the chest. The bullet exited out his back and near his shoulder and missed all his major organs.

And the best news is Pierceall was released from the hospital Sunday afternoon.

This is obviously a case where football takes a backseat to life so we'll be hoping for the best

for Pierce all going forward and we'll follow up on that as needed with that out of the way.

Let's look at some of the biggest issues we're watching heading into week one and

remember we have both Thursday and Friday night games this week.

We'll start.

Thursday, Baltimore is at Kansas City

to kick things off and there's some issues there.

Markeyce Brown suffered a shoulder injury,
