0:40.5 | And we're going to look at a great story in the Bible, full of intrigue, but probably won't cover all of it today. |

0:52.5 | So let's go into verse one, and the Lord appeared unto him. |
0:58.4 | So remember, when the Bible was written, there were no chapter divisions or verse divisions. |
1:05.6 | So God has just reiterated this covenant with Abraham, and Abraham is obeyed. |
1:13.7 | He has circumcised all the male members of his family, and now the Bible says, |

1:31.8 | Abraham is this stranger in the land. He's dwelling in tents. |
1:39.9 | He has had the promise of God reiterated to him now several times. And it says that he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day. That wouldn't be unusual. If you've ever been in that area of the |
1:46.1 | world, especially from June to September, it is blazingly hot and no air conditioning. And he's in |
1:54.7 | the desert area. So typically one would work early in the morning when it was cool and even later at night, |
2:03.4 | but during the hottest part of the day, you would typically find a place of shade. |
2:09.7 | So he's not inside the tent, he's at the door of his tent. |
2:12.7 | Why? Because there's shade and there's also probably a wind flow and and you're also able to see who's coming down |
